Thundergirl helps the homeless

We all want our kids to grow up thinking of others, but it’s easy to over protect them from poverty and sadness - particularly from homelessness. With busy lives and family responsibilities, it’s not always easy to lead by example. So, we’re helping you to help the homeless by donating 10% of the proceeds of every copy of Ara Becomes Thundergirl to Centrepoint, a charity that helps homeless people rebuild their lives.

Sheni and Teni hope that by reading Ara Becomes Thundergirl and seeing Ara spend her pocket money on lunch for a homeless man, kids will be encouraged to do their bit, or talk to their parents and friends about helping the homeless. Littles need to learn about the good and the bad things that can happen to people, in order for them to understand their own place in the world. And how they can help.

(Pre)school Giveaway

We have committed to donating 1 box of our puzzle sets to 20 nursery settings and preschools as chosen by YOU (via our Instagram page) between now and the end of 2020. We strongly believe it is important to:

  1. diversify the play spaces in our nurseries,
  2. provide a means of much needed ethnic representation; and
  3. open up conversations with children on the topic of diversity and inclusion, differences in backgrounds and ethnicities, and to celebrate and welcome these differences. The short stories included act as the perfect prompt to do just this.

This has become ever so important today as difficult conversations are being had, opening up learning opportunities on the topic of racism, not just in the US, but here in the UK and indeed all over the world.

If you would like join the conversation, and sponsor a donation to the school of your choice - please send an email to info@sheniandteni.com. We would love to hear from you!
